The Mentawai Island regency is a chain of about 70 islands and islets located 174 kilometers off the western coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.

Kaini is tucked away on Masokut Island in the Mentawais. Our jungle hideout is located in the southern end of Siberut Island, also known as Playgrounds, due to the many surf breaks found in the area.

With one of the best locations in the Mentawais, we have Pitstop and Ebay surf breaks right on our doorstep. You will find five different surf breaks within walking distance on our island, and more than 20 breaks reachable within a 30-minute boat ride.

Flight — Arrive by flight to the airport in Padang, Sumatra.

Transfer  — One of Kaini's representatives will be greeting you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Padang. 
(We will help you out with recommendations for hotels in the area.)

Hotel  — As there are no flights connected to the ferry schedule, you will need to stay two nights in Padang. (Once upon arrival and once when departing.) 

Ferry  — The following day, Kaini's rep will transfer you to the ferry to bring you to Siberut Island in the Mentawais. The ferry typically takes between 3,5-5h depending on which day you travel and sea conditions.

Speed boat — From there, we will pick you up in one of our private speed boats that will get you straight to our island resort.
